THE STARTING POINT.
Realizing the freelancing world gives me hope that there’s much more for me.
I used to work in the corporate world for more than a decade. Doing Administrative tasks is easy for me because that’s what I love to do. Organizing files, scheduled meetings, and sometimes doing customer service. My corporate world has stopped when I gave birth, and my son needed my full attention. So, I’m stuck in a four corner of our house. One day while browsing social media, then came the Filipino Virtual Assistant Academy. And that's where my story will begin.
MY FREELANCING COURSE AND THE STORY BEHIND.
I enrolled in the academy in the 4th quarter of the month last year. I was so excited about engaging in a new world. I became more motivated when my Upwork profile was approved just in week 1 of my Freelancing Course - coaching session. I even tried to pass proposals to the job post of the different platforms even though I am not finished with my course yet. Five proposals in a day. At last! This is the beginning of me earning my own money. But after a month, not even a single client gave attention to any of my proposals. I began to be disappointed because I really wanted to get a client immediately. And another thing, the 2nd half of my freelancing course is more challenging. You need to invest time and effort in learning the course. I was about to give up in a short period of time. It’s not easy as I think knowing this is just basic. It’s not a spoon-feeding lesson that you will get certificate after watching it but you have to work also on your own. Now I begin to realize, that enrolling in the course is not just getting a certificate and after that getting a dream job. It is building a career, loving what you do and having a vision.
DO NOT GIVE UP. START LEARNING.
Let’s not rush things. Meditate the lesson while loving it. Learn until such time you found your niche. There’s more in store in Freelancing. It’s more than earning dollars (of course this is the main reason why we are learning skills) but we should also focus on the things that we can give rather than the things that we can get. Research... be inspired by the stories of other successful freelancers and the beginning of their journey. Be connected to the group - Filipino Virtual Assistants. Ask about the things you wanna know.
WHY SHOULD I NOT GIVE UP MY FREELANCING JOURNEY? Of course, it’s for the
people we love. All our efforts and perseverance is for them. They are the burning motivation that drives us to be more of ourselves. FVA Academy teaches not just the course but the encouraging Word of God that will guide me throughout this freelancing course. And because of that, I know that I can be the best version of myself. Mentally and morally equipped, giving my commitment to the job entrusted unto me with excellence.
